Matthew 21:18-22: Radical Dependence on God

Does it seem radical to ask God to curse anything in my life that has promised to be my source of supply but has not produced?

Does it seem overkill to expect that looking to God as the only Source of good for me would move some mountains, and remove some daily routines and other structures that humans have created?

Does it seem unnecessary to give up expecting solace from my TV show, or novels, or food, or drugs? Does it seem hard to think of replacing companionships that aren't good for you?

Yes, it does seem difficult and sometimes unnecessary. It is radical in terms of the way many people survive this earthly existence.

That's why turning it all over to God is the answer for me. Only God knows what things are truly not bearing good fruit in my life. Only God can effectively curse something bad to get it out of my life. I have a poor track record in either recognizing or ousting stuff that holds me back.

I can happily testify that our God is a God of miracles!
