How long no end to violence and lack of justice? "Though it tarry, wait for it," and "live by faith." Habakkuk 1:1-4, 2:1-4

How many of us could make eight very different sentences (let alone 144 or 176!) about why the Bible is important to us? Psalm 119:137-144

In his letters, Paul's connection with his people is always warm and affirming. For instance, 2 Thessalonians 1:1-4, 11-12

Follow mentions of "publican" or "publicans" in Luke to learn what Zaccheus may have known before he climbed his tree. Luke 19:1-10

I see two very different connecting themes in this week's Lectionary Readings. Habakkuk and Luke (Zaccheus) both have themes of justice and the ending of injustice. Paul to the Thessalonians and Jesus to Zaccheus both expressed respect and affirmation of the other's spiritual journey so far.
