God's choices of leaders sometimes surprise experienced candidate interviewers. 1 Samuel 16:1-13
I have seen Psalm 23 variously paraphrased, some with satire picturing an IT gadget, or church, or money in the place of "the Lord."
A favorite paraphrase of Psalm 23: "The Lord is my Pacesetter. I will not rush." http://www.christinyou.net/pages/psalm23.html
Light has to do with walking in the Lord, seeing what was hidden, and waking in the morning. Ephesians 5:8-14
Divine spit on the ground made clay and then a miracle, John 9:1-41: Divine breath and dust made humans in Creation, Genesis 2:7.
Following a good leader and seeing what was hidden are possible common themes in this week's Lectionary. |
