The frist parts of Hebrews 1 and 2 make up one of the most beautiful and sublime hymns to Jesus that we have.
Although it's a sublime hymn, for some it might be difficult to discover the train of thought. I will try to summarize it as I see it.
God has spoken by His Son on earth, like He spoke by His Son in creating the world.
God's Son is exactly like the Father. The Son manages, empowers, and is heir of all things, sitting now at God's right hand in the universe.
In the order of the universe under God and the Son, rank the angels and then humans a little lower.
When God's Son came to earth He was made a little lower than the angels, like humans, in order to endure suffering and death.
And now God's Son is restored to a position where all things are put under His rulership.
The Son's aim is to bring humans to be with Him, and since He became on of us to accomplish that, he calls us brothers and sisters.
Here's plenty of reason for me to join in saying, "I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee."
