Deuteronomy 8:18: Source of All Supply

Moses said, "You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth" (see Deuteronomy 8:18). Moses warned the people that when they got wealthy they might forget who gave them the power to get that way.

Whether or not I am currently in what would be considered a wealthy state, I believe the call is for me. I should remember the Lord my God because it is He alone who gives me power to get my needs met.

My source and security is not on Wall Street. The fluctuating laws of supply and demand rule the market. Yet God as my source of supply is not tied to the market.

My security is not in having my own house. Look what happened to the strongest buildings in face of 9-11 and Katrina. My source is only in God.

My power to make money lies not in my strength or my intelligence or my marketing. My source of good is not even my paycheck. All these are merely in God's hands.

God knows where the contracts are and how to find them. God is the source of my energy and wellness so as to let me work more time and more productively.

Even the favor of my boss or banker is in the hands of the Lord. "The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord . . . He turns it wherever He will" (see Proverbs 21:1).

I want to remember, and remember, and remember. I want to be always remembering that it is God who handles all those things I'm likely to think are my sources of good.

"You should remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth" (see Deuteronomy 8:18).
