I think David must have been some kind of romantic like me. In this Psalm, David describes God in sweet and exaggerated terms such as a beloved might use for the lover.
Grace poured into your lips, annointed with oil of gladness, clothes smell like perfume. It's okay to think of God coming to you to enjoy you and find pleasure in your interaction with Him.
I believe God looks to earth often, hunting for people who find their pleasure in Him, whether you smell him in nature or music or art or literature or relationships or science or the joys of learning or accomplishment. |
